Looking to do an LS1 Swap

Hey guys im looking to embark on an LS1 swap and ive been looking into it to figure out everything i would need to do the swap and the whole procedure that goes into it. I wanted to to see if anyone has done it on here and can help me i know they are a few builds but they are so vague and hard to understand. I am specifically looking to swap an LS1 in (NO AC/ or anything just the motor), mount some sort of 5 speed due to the fact that 6 speeds are too pricy, either custom driveshaft or skyline twin driveshafts, and lastly im lost on the differential and rear end neccesities. Im planning on gutting the whole car and welding a metal dash with only RPM, OIL, FUEL, and SPEEDO gauges (just the bare basics. LAter i will be installing ground control coilovers all around and buy a widebody kit to fit bigger wheels. I am having trouble figuring out the motor mount situation and the crossmember change. Also I was curious as to why i needed to modify the steering rack and pinion. I have many plans for my 190 but as of now im just looking to gain a power swap due to the fact that i blew my head gasket on my 2.3 and would rather pay to do a swap rather than simply replace the gasket.

I too am interested in doing this as a future project car.

Here is a thread I found:

Not sure if it will help much, but its something at least.
Also good luck with the project!
