Known Issues to look for?
Florida rules because cars are cheap down here...including the Mercedes goodness.
I'm looking into buying a 190, but I wanted to consult with people who already own one before diving in...what should I look for on these cars?
Thanks!

The answer is going to depend on what model you plant your backside in. Except for the 16 valve, keep in mind that the W201 was designed to be a "bahn burner" not a contender in the North American "stoplight grand prix" so off the line, it's pretty hard to chirp the rear wheels. Overall, in good shape, the W201 should make you feel like you're driving a larger Mercedes, giving nothing away for its lighter weight, shorter wheelbase and narrower track. I would guess it's a 20-25 mph car, meaning that you're actually going 20-25 mph faster than it feels. If you don't get that bigger car feel, then there's probably some suspension and vibration isolation issues to be looked into.

furby, most importantly it is whether you are getting the manual or auto version,8 valves or multi valves.Check the tranmission, and gearbox valve body. Most importantly the body of the car.Overall the car is perfect for those 18 to 35 yrs old, there are kits to lower the car by biltein suspension. My consumption is very good i can get around 30-35mpg,but this also have to depend on the driver and road condition as well.It is a very good car though, good handling, easy for parking and the size is just as big like a modern family car which is not to huge and not to small.
