Drove with my oil cap off
Hello, a couple of questions
I drove my car 10-15 km without knowing the oil cap was off. On the last 5 kms back to my house the engine oil lamp came on. When I came home I opened the hood, and oil was everywhere, all over the engine and all over the hood, even some on my left headlight.
The car ran fine and didnt overheat, but I think I drove with little to no oil at all for maybe 5 kms. Has this possible done any damage to the engine?
Now I also have to clean the whole engine, for now ive been using paper towels, but whats the best way?
thanks.

Out Of Control!!
You can test your hypothesis by remembering how much oil you added then, subtract that amount from the recommended amount. What was it?---That will answer your question on whether you damaged your engine.
Don't do as some of the less literate folks and hose off the engine----there are thousands of emulsifiers available on the web and at parts stores for this project
