190DT Head Gasket Checklist

Doing the head gasket on my '87 190D 2.5T (factory) and just want to double check a few things....

1) Got a good set of "star bits" for the head bolts. They are not long - so will need to pull the camshaft. I have pulled some pretty nasty-seized bolts from VW and benz suspensions (far more torque than the head bolts get) and never had one yield, so don't see any issues there. Am going to have a machine shop completely inspect the head, so cam has to come out anyway. Question: is it typical to have serious mechanical (cracks, etc) issues with the heads used in the '87 190DT models? I head stories of the NA engines and similar, but the 87DT was kinda an oddball that (for those who know) featured a lot of newer componentry that was only seen on later (89+) E class diesels.

2) The 2 rail guides.. I have a threaded bolt ready to use, but imagine just clamping my slide hammer on would be faster/easier. The factory service manual even references a type of slide impact pulled.. Any issues doing it this way?

3) Bolt tightening sequence.. Just so I can be sure I understand this correctly:
-- A: Tighten all (in sequence) to 15NM (or 11.06 FT-LB)
-- B: Tighten all (in sequence) to 35NM (or 25.8 FT-LB)
-- C: 90 degree turn (in sequence)
-- D: Go have a beer
-- E: One last 90 degree turn (in sequence)..
Correct?

3) I have historically always kept NAPA heavy-duty (SCA lifetime charge) coolant in my MB diesels, this one currently has cheapo green in it. Should I stick with the heavy duty SCA NAPA stuff, or is this overkill on the newer 602 type diesels?

I got all the pre-chamber service tools and will have the head completely broken down while it is off. New valve stem seals, lap the valve/seats, etc. Probably going to install the new Bosio nozzles & calibrate/pop test all that as well while I got it all torn down.

Just going through a few things.. I have done many head gasket jobs on various engines over the years and have a pretty good handle on things.. Just wanted to check on the items above after reading the FSM. I prefer going into a job well-informed.
