Parking brake shoe installation problem

I've been installing new parking brake shoes on my 1990 190E. The driver's side is done but I've run into a problem on the passenger side. The new shoes are on but I can't get the new rotor on. The adjuster is 'closed' all the way and the shoes appear to be properly seated in the expander. All four springs are installed. Any suggestions or tricks would be appreciated.

Did you use the correct part number for the brake shoes?

Parking shoe installation

Yes. Correct part # according to EPC. Meyle parking brake shoe kit. The four shoes are 'identical', aren't they?

So I solved the problem. What I did was to take a metal file to the four contact points of the brake shoes and file each by a mm or two at each point. By doing this the shoes were closer together when re-installed which allowed the rear rotor to fit. Not sure if the problem was caused in the manufacturing process or the installation process, but whatever it was filing the contact points solved the problem.
