hey fellas, I'm Ben from Phoenix, AZ. I'm looking to buy a used 190E. I'm not the guy to race or hit the track(at least not yet), I don't need a super fast car. just putting that out there, not planning to go crazy on one of these project cars. I just want something nice and comfy with beautiful style so on my way home from work last August, I saw a beautiful all white 190E with no badging on it minus the MB logo with the Evo body kit. I was stunned. my lips formed an "O" while this car was passing by me in traffic, nice and slow. My face was both a mixture of confusion and outrage. All I knew was that I had to get one of those myself. I just don't really know anything about these cars. Now i'm just dying to get my hands on one that I can work on and make into a daily driver. Not for work though, I drive a truck for that.
however, there are none for sale in AZ except a $1k 1990 2.6 190E in Yuma.

as you can see, not much info on this. I asked the owner if I could drive this back to Phoenix and he did say yes, but I'm not convinced. the body looks OK. Considering its a South AZ car, I'm positive there is 0 rust. Interior looks OK, only thing I'm really concerned with are the mechanical demons it might have under its skin. So the real question here is, after I talk his price down, would it be worth the buy? there is another around here that I could buy at $300 for parts and a guy is parting out a wrecked 190E around here too for when I need parts.
My overall plan is to get wrenching, paint it white, and re-do the interior. I'm thinking red seats and stuff.

Thanks for any and all input

Hey Mr. Know Nothing,

Well I'd say you know something since you came here to ask questions! I'm also interested in buying a 190E. They are beautiful cars and I hope one day I can own one too. Unfortunately, I too don't know red flags I should be looking for when selecting a 190E. Best of luck to you on your hunt! Hopefully someone can educate us NOOBS XD
