AMG Gts swapped 190e possible???
1. Harness - reason we all run Ls motors is the harness can be made stand alone with no issues. Mercedes runs a-lot of creature comforts in their harness and it generally goes to additional places before ecu. Therefore you would nee to run megasquirt or some aftermarket stand alone. Without knowing the mercedes variables, such like the MB racing team it can be a complicated task
2. Cost - a 500hp ls3 motor with variable valve timing is 4k. A l92 aluminum block 450hp motor is 2k. Add 2k in mods and its 600-650hp. Ebay c63 m156 is 10k-20k. For that much money i could build a LS with 800hp plus. For 12k i can buy a brand new 600hp ls7 with factory dry sump harness and ecu from GM Performance and 20k buys you a LSA plug and play. GM performance has a connect and cruise package with all
needed smog equipment.
3. Parts - lets face it 🤬 breaks. Parts for LS pennys on dollar.
mercedes parts not so much
4. Drivetrain - so many options, from automatic to 5-6speeds your options are endless.
5. Modifications - LS endless , Merc not so much, its sad when bmw mods their diesels to 600-800hp 1000ft torque. Mercedes makes a great diesel motor but no one does over 400hp. This can be applied to c63. Cost in mod are as much as a new LS motor.
6. Reliability - From gearbox to engine lets face it. You can trash a LS and not care and they last forever, corvettes have 200k plus mileage and i see them on the track with original engine. Being hard on a merc v8 means about 36 hours of fun then a 10-20k repair bill.
So in short you want to make less hp harder to modify cost you more to fix and be limited to mercedes auto gearbox? IDK, just easier to run a chevy or ford v8. The new Ford motor sounds nearly identical to a modded C63.
Seriously though
