Hey everyone! So I need some advice. I'm honestly more of a BMW guy, but I've always had a lot of respect and admiration for the 190E. I see one on Craigslist right now for not a lot of money but 208K on the clock. Owner says the thing runs great and has no issues. I'd have to travel some distance to get it, without a lot of disposable income. In your opinion, is it worth it for me to go and have a tech look at it, or is this an obvious money pit? Any advice welcome...

You could have a tech look at it. I would not buy it without having a tech look at it. The low price gives me some pause as there is nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes. The 190E is a well built, durable car but they do need regular maintenance as does anything mechanical. You would also want to know that the car has been regularly maintained using good quality parts and with fluids changed on a regular basis. Make sure the car has MB coolant. Not using MB coolant will damage the cooling system. I love my 190E dearly. It's been a great car but then I've been relentless on regular maintenance with OEM parts and regular fluid changes..
