Most cost efficient engine swap
Hey all, I am new here so I wanted to start picking the brains of the community . I have an ‘88 190e 2.3 8v and was just curious to see what some have done out there for engine swaps without getting ridiculous in costs.

What is your goal? Original or hot rod?
Chevy small blocks are relatively plentiful.
Original MB engine for this vehicle will have the least amount of mods required.
What do you want to do with this car?

I want to keep a Merc motor under there, something with a cool factor, doesn’t have to be built. I see some Euro guys swapping Kompressor motors in there
