as I was driving today my fan (on high and AC) just quite blowing and a buzzing noise started to come out of the Blower Switch (S3/1). At first thought it was my low oil pressure buzzer but that was up in the 2+ bar range. got it home and parked and with my handy Philipps Driver took the console apart. There is no fan control, when the Defog button is pressed it makes a different pitch buzz then when any of the other buttons are pushed. When the 0 is pushed the buzzing goes away. When any of the push buttons are pushed the Aux Fan comes on and it also sound like the compressor loads. Is it time for a new blower switch - did one of the relays go postal?

simple - stupid
for the price of two fuses the problem was solved - turns out the route cause was a blown fuse. And the trouble all started when I replaced the fuse with a "bad" one. After many hours with a gauge and a few parts later all it took was a second fuse. However the blower matter may still require replacing. It seems as the brushes wear down it draws more amps and poof the fuse goes. Because the AC/Heat system is interconnected it will rob from one to try to make the other work, thus the buzzing relay and the Aux fan coming on.
