Quick Pricing Question...

Hi folks. I'm just a newbie here, and I'm in the market for a stick shift 190e with good paint and a straight body.

What would a late 80's 190e run me, or what should I expect to pay for one nowadays?

Thanks

Watch eBay

The best thing I can think of, considering that you're looking for something in the eighties, is to browse through eBay. You can click on links to narrow the search as much as you like. With a car that age, there are so many variables that even the pros like NADA and Edmunds can't give you a decent answer.

When I'm pricing something, and I find a car that fits my criteria, I click on "watch this item in my eBay" and it adds it to my list. That way when the auction is over, you know how much it sold for (most bidding is done in the last 5 minutes). I think that, if you go into the advanced search, you can actually set it to look for only closed auctions if you're in a hurry.

2003 C230K Sport Coupe, 1986 190E 2.3
This question has many many answers. Depending on location and market, condition of the vehicle and of course year. I paid $800 for a 1986 190E 2.3 8 Valve with 160,000 miles on it and two of the door panels pealing as well as four shot tires and a hell of a rough idle. Now after a year and about $400 in parts, not including tires and other wear and tear, it is finally running damn good. Still not perfect but pretty damn good. It only may need fuel injectors. So about $1200 for a decent running one with some minor issues with paint and interior bits and pieces. 18 Year old parts tend to be extremely brittle!!!! Half the stuff I replaced I broke while working on it myself. Anyhow, it all depends on the year, condition, model, and how she runs and handles. Best bet is to look in your area for a while and see what people are asking and decide which is the best one for you.
