can you use lights from your old lights for your european ones?

I was just wondering if you could use lights/bulbs from the american headlights of a 190e and put them into the european headlights? My european lights did not come with bulbs so I need to put some in. Are the connections the same or will I need to modify something besides the 4 pin connector to a 6 pin? Or perhaps purchase new bulbs for these european lights? Let me know, thanks.

The foglamp bulb is the same, H3; but tha main beam (hi and low) is together a different bulb. European main beam bulb is H4.

Will the H4 light require a different socket connector? Or will my car have one that fits it?
