Mercedes-Benz Water Pump Graf or Laso?
Laso brand. The Laso is more expensive.
Anyone have any experience with either brand?
FWIW
1-Buy the pump from Mercedes Benz. It is cheaper and right part. They use the VIN to identify the part/s.They will refund the core charges when you will return the old part.
2-Arrange proper tools before you start the DIY job.
3-Do not use adjustable spanner. When possible, use socket or ring spanner
4-Do not try to use an Allen key on a Torx bolt. BTW, the pulley on the water pump has Torx 30 bolts.
5-Before you remove any part make a simple sketch and label. Same holds for the serpentine belt.Make a sketch of the belt on the pulleys.
6-Pay special attention to the water pump bolt lengths. You can check the thread length by inserting a small screw driver in the threaded hole before re-assembly.
7-Belt can easily be removed without fighting with the tensioner. There is no need to start playing with the tensioner.Leave it alone.
8-The bolt on the fan un-locks in the CCW direction like any other regular bolt.
9-You can get step by step instructions from any website.
10-To avoid slippage of the pulley while un-locking the fan and Torx bolts use a small hammer or a crow bar to keep pulley in place. Insert it in the small space under the pulley. It needs a very small force to hold.
I hope my experience will benefit my MB friends.

Remove fan shroud, pull tensioner and pull belt off the alternator, remove fan and fan pulley, remove belt, remove tensioner, pull water pump, reverse.
