New-to-me 190E 2.6 5MT

Hi all, first post and thread here. I just got my first Mercedes on Saturday, after years of Porsche and BMW ownership, a 190E that I have been trying to get for just over three years. This car was a custom order originally, and it was ordered with a manual(!), along with being a tourist delivery car. I also believe the paint color might have been a paint to sample or something? I can't find any info about this color on W201s (it is code 877U, 'blue green metallic'). On Sunday, my second day of ownership I found some wheels for it already, pre merger AMG Aero 1s in 7.5Jx16et40 square, the fitment up front is tight to the strut, so not sure if I can fit 225/50/16s without a spacer.

I already have the motor unstick after it sat for years, and the engine running on starter fluid. The entire fuel system is gummed and the tank was trash as i found out yesterday when removing it, swiss cheese on the sides. I have found one tank in the entirety of Florida, all the way in Miami out of a 190D for $275. I have two new fuel pumps, filters, strainer, and some other stuff coming from FCP Euro right now, I think I will have a friend grab that tank for me unless I find something else.

My long term goal is to use this to replace my E39 wagon as my daily driver. I adore my wagon, especially being a V8 with manual, but 20mpg hurts my soul. Plus it needs a break, it needs a lot of work that requires downtime I can't afford right now.

Pictures from before I cleaned the car, you can notice some of the other cars I have fun with in the background.

Best of luck to you in the restoration process. You'll have a beauty.

Thanks, it'll definitely be a slow process, my main priority is that it runs good, drives good, and isn't rusting away (it has some minor rust spots I need to clean up). My goal is to take it on a roadtrip in May to The Vintage with a friend and his dad, who has an E32 I helped him find.

Update on the gas tank. I found somebody in the UK selling a plastic tank, which seems to have been a late model W201 thing only in Europe? It's the most expensive option for now, but it's also the permanent fix. No dealing with rusty metal gas tanks. Unfortunately it won't arrive til the end of next week, which is a huge bummer. I might pay for expedited shipping.
