20w50 oil in a 190E 2.3

Hi all, my 1993 190E currently has 312,000km on it.

I have not had the engine rebuilt, and I am not going too. I would like this car to make it to next summer.

I have a huge oil bruning problem, I quick fixed it by tossing in some Lucas HOS and this CO2 (grey bottle) stuff that stops oil burning when I changed my oil. I used soem castrol high millage stuff this time. My car seems to have stopped burning oil for the moment.

When the weather gets warner here, I wanted to try some 20w50 oil. My question is will 20w50 harm the engine during sping and summer?

by the way any of you having tranny problems with the 4 spd in this car, go get the fluid and filter changed, and toss in some Lucas automatic transmission fix. So far 60,000km with the stuff and no problems. my tranny had a hole and was running dry for awhile, I got it fixed but the tranny was no too good. That lucas AT fix is soem good stuff, 10$ saved me alot of $. I get some hard shifts but its not that bad.

20/50 Oil

I use 20/50 castrol in most imports. Living in Houston Texas our summers become very hot. The 20/50 blend can handle extreme heat. Other brands of 20/50 i'm sure are fine to, we just happen to love the castrol brand.
