Lower rear outer control arm bushing replacement

No need to disassemble the control arm, hub, parking brake etc.
Jacked up the rear
Took off the wheel
Took off the brake caliper
Took off the brake disc
bent the brake shield to access the outer control arm nut and bolt
Took off nut- soaked in penetrating oil first
Put a jack under the control to hold the arm up
Used a punch to drive out the bolt. wheel hub moved upward to expose the bushing.
drove the bushing out with the CTA 8690 tool. There was a loud crack when the bushing broke free!
Installed the new bushing that was in the freezer for a couple of days. went in easily with the tool.
Car seemed more stable at highway speeds. I had a slight vibration at 75mph. Creeking is gone too.

those along with subframe bushings are usually always neglected. i remember those outer bushes were super stuck on mine even with a long breaker and snipe they came out burning hot (from press/friction without pneumatics) even after 24hr soak in pb blaster. like you said totally worth the effort!
on side note at the minimum greasing threads on those types of tools always helps was also told that adding thrust washers/torington bearings help reduce load/friction on threads to make the tool last longer and job easier. cleaning out/deburring bore on control arm with brush or sandpaper adding antiseize to it and bolt is what i did. (probably not worth a damm but helps me sleep sometimes)
long ago people used to rent/loan out tools like yours to other enthusiast members; maybe those days of a healthy distrust are gone...
