Changing headlight bulbs
Hey, I just bought some upgraded bulbs for my 190E, but I'm embarassed to say I'm not exactly sure how to change the bulbs. The taillights and whatnot I got no problem, but I'm at a bit of a loss when it comes to the headlight bulbs. Thanks in advance, everybody.

I think it depends what type of headlights you have. Some of the older 190s such as my 86, have Hella sealed beams. With these you have to replace the entire headlamp. Since you bought bulbs I am assuming you have a newer version of the headlight. To change those bulbs, slide the back cover off the headlight, and remove the bulb. I believe (its been a while since I have seen that assembly) you need to release it from the housing because it is held in with a metal wire. Instructions are in the manual as well. As for euro lamps, I do not know.

I have a 1991 with the stock headlight, not the Euros. I don't believe they are sealed, like with the 86 you mentioned. As anyone ever changed their headlight bulbs? Thanks!

There is a slip cover that you need to get off. Then unplug the housing. You then rotate the bulb, can't remember which way, and you'll hear a click. The bulb then pulls out straight back. The fog lamps have a metal wire that holds them in place. Don't get too excited about aftermarket bulbs. I couldn't tell a difference on the ones I bought.
