Scratched CF front lip

Anyone know the best way to touch this up? My lovely wife took my car out for a quick stop at 7-Eleven, & scratched up the bottom side of my CF front lip!!!

You can barely see it unless you look under the car, but i know it's there & that alone pisses me off, lol. I figured if anything could be done, the MBWorld gurus could give me an answer. I had thought of using a touch up paint pen in (paint color 040) black, i know it's not carbon fiber, but at least it wont look like a scratch & you would have to really look at it close up to notice.

thx

I think that would honestly be your best option. Carbon Fiber is a very unique texture and can be delicate if exposed. Also, since CF isn't painted (its just the weave with a clear coat over it), I say if its just a few scratches, spend more time getting over it than trying to find out how to fix it. Theres no way to match paint to CF unless you do it by hand.

Edit: I just remembered that I've seen tape that has the pattern of CF on it, or a sticker with the same CF pattern. You could just get one of those and stick it on the bottom and it might blend just fine. It could also serve as protection against those deadly parking blocks and steep driveways.

Yeah i figured that the touch up paint would probably be the best option. I will look around for those CF stickers you mentioned though.

thanks

Brush on a little clearcoat, trust me you'll be amazed with the results.

Well even though she said that she's never going to drive it again, of course i'll let her drive it, lol. She was freaking out when she got home. She felt really bad, because she knows how much i take care of & pamper my car. I'm, not mad though, at the end of the day it's just a piece of plastic.

CF touch up.

We have a body guy here that can usually touch up the CF parts good as new - that said, it's still easy to scratch 'em up. Maybe wait a few months until she's been "trained" to know how far she can pull up to a curb?

To be fair, though: I could use that training on some of these lowered cars!

Gotta say with the lower front bumpers on cars and given city driving/parking conditions I would be suprised to find a car that didn't have scratches on the underside of the front bumper. I am super careful but sooner or later it happens. Clearcoat is a good idea. Also I might try metallic black paint given how carbon fiber looks.

This. Bit of a wet sand and a clearcoat and you wont even be able to tell its there. I had a few (very little) scratches under my front spoiler and just used a little nail polish. Worked great.

+1

i've actually also used surfboard resin as it filled the gaps pretty well. just make sure it's not uv sensitive so it doesn't turn yellow on you.

I have a lip refinished once by a body shop. I'm not certain of the entire procedure, but I'm assuming there was some sanding involved and clearcoat application.

Front spoilers get f-ed up no matter what, My car is lowered and every time I go up to a curb or out a driveways it's a guessing game, or I have to raise the car and hope I clear it.
I just hit it with a black paint pen and move on. I used to clear coat it with touch up paint but I don't care anymore. The bottom is hard to see anyway. On my GT3 I ripped my Cup spoiler off, that was pretty funny..lol

Just buy from Gary in SouthCal, its $270 shipped.... if you take it to bodyshop will cost you about the same thing. Just buy a new one for $270 and change it every year or two.

Just put the first scratches on my new lip today. Is this clearcoat available as touch up paint at most parts stores?
