My local MB stealer want $400 for it. they have to order it from German with all he switch (7) cut out.
Steve at MBenzNL want $330 for it. same deal have to have all the option switches (7 hole).

The factory Nav is much taller, so the open is bigger (vertical) even if yo can get an after market double DIn unit in there will be a big gap above and below it. look really bad.
My suggestion and it look much better and cost less. Go to your local stereo shop, someone who specialize in fiberglass dash, trim, enclosure etc.. and have them make you a custom trim panel. Check out mine, they can airbrush it to look match your wood trim.
They relocate the climate control to the bottom pocket. look really OEM. Can't tell if it was aftermarket.

Cost $150 but you have to remove the panel and leave it with them for a day.

Costs >$1500 for a single DIN conversation to a double DIN one, and not all shops are willing to take this job cos its risky breaking your centre wood panel. So I did it by myself and here's the pic. I will be replacing all my existing interior trim pieces with C/F. This project will finish near end of Oct and I will be posting some pics up. At the moment, it looks ugly, but will post up the pics once it is done.
