Just fyi, I am pretty sure that all 2009 MY cars are getting the updated NAV software so the E-Class is not alone.

Would be better to enjoy what ever MY xy instead of one or a few earlier.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
The only bad thing about the 2009 is that you can't order a leather interior without the sport package. So I have a 2009 E350 4Matic on order with MB-Tex upholstery. My build date is this week, and the dealership expects the car to arrive in early August. I'll post pictures of the new nav when it arrives.

The other interiors, Black, Cashmere, and Grey can all be ordered in leather on a Luxury E350.

But here one can find a few presentations about the new COMAND. It looks pretty much like the W204 COMAND, or a W221 with the few W204 additions.

That is exactly what 321 is, AMG sport package brings those AMG components to the standard 333 sport package.
333 comes with unique front lower body work (the chrome lines around the fog lights) and dual chrome exhuasts, and unique 18" 10 double spoke wheels.
321 AMG Sport package has AMG front and rear body work with dual chrome exhuasts, 18" AMG 5 spoke wheels, AMG premium leather steering wheel with paddle shifters.
If I understand correctly, the 333 Sport package will be replaced for MY 2009 with the AMG Sport package which will be no charge. Does this sound right?

321 is a "real" sport package, because it adds sport trim to the 333 "Avantgard with sport components"

On the COMAND screen there are menus for artists, songs, playlists, etc. Much easier to use than the previous iPod integration.
This is going to sound stupid, but the one thing I didn't like is the beep when you pull the Voice Control lever. It is a different beep than the other cars now, and it sounds lower-tech, but oh well, at least the voice control works as well as the new C-Class now.

I guess Mercedes never wanted to get involved with Elegance vs. Avantgarde terminology in the US as it would probably even further confuse customers and dealers.

I just bought my car 2 weeks ago! hmm..."Sir...my car is flooded now what? "
