Project _PTE_
As you all know I been working on My engine for quite some time. I've had a few stops along the way , But I wanted it to do some things my way. Here is the latest Dyno sheet , I always use the same dyno ( DYNOJET 248 H ) & The same operator. This was a new Kleemann blower kit with the MP-112 Gen 4 Eaton type blower . The pull was done in 4 gear , then we hit the speed limiter at 6400 rpm. It was pulling very good til then.and I believe the HP will keep increasing to 7000. rpm and beyond. The Torque curve is right & Fuel air ratio is on the money 11.83 for safe operation . Enjoy ___PTEngineering

Patrick,
Great stuff. Do you think you will up the rev limiter to take advantage of the considerable torque you are making at the top end?
I bet the engine would sound great at 7000 rpm as long as the valves follow the cams.
Any detonation present or measured during your runs?
Jeff

Hound me
I'm currently working on a True Dual Exhaust system< , several years age I was going up to the Farm and driveway has a Granite bolder that pushs up to the surface alittle more each spring. Well I nailed it prefectly with the right side Bullet Cat. It really did not look bad, at that time. More like a scratch. Now that I look at it 3years later. It is a large crease. Plus when I pulled the heads for porting , I spilled out some motor oil , right down the open header collector into the cat. I mean a perfect shot, Couldn't done it better with a funnel. And motor oil will kill a metal core cat.
Now I'm putting together the parts needed to update this exhaust . 1st is a replacement spare tire tub. The 03-04 coupe had left side exhaust 3" exhaust , The tub was offset to the right for muffler clearance. 05 Coupe had Quad tips (dual ,Left & right sides) Still single exhaust ? The 05 tub was remade to have a more centered position , Now there is room for the right side muffler.
The next hurdle is the rear Anti sway bar. The 03 - 04 has a nice loop for a 3" exhaust pipe pass through , Left side only ? No right side clearance ( or enough Clearance to suit me) for a clean straight run . I looked at a CLK 63 black series Rear Anti Sway bar . It has a left & Right exhaust pipe pass through loops. Is a little large diameter 18mm vers my 16 mm stock piece. Then I have to deal with cutting the right side exhaust exit in the rear bumper cover. I have Part numbers & Pictures shortly tynerfla@bellsouth.net >

Great Project
Wow - now this is the Next level of hotrodding I like to see.... IF I keep my clk55 for many years I will copy your dual exhaust mod shamelessly.....
Nice dyno sheet also. So with 25% drivetrain loss (or more) you're at 573fwhp? Or with 30% drivetrain loss you're at 614fwhp. Very very nice.

Great to see another Kleemann installation as these upgrades are money well spent.
I completed a similair installation during the past year and after running in the engine and assessing the results it is time for further upgrading.
What boost are you running?

True Dual Exhaust for CLK
Hello All:
Well The exhaust Project is going slow ,but I'm getting through the tough spots. The major Hurdles are the anti Sway Bar. I did get the one from a CLK 63 BS. Psychically it mounted the the Sub Frame . and was The same Diameter as the one I pull off. 16 MM , I would have thought it would be a Larger diameter I bent the end rails on the B/S bar in a large press and got it closer to properly reaching under the rear control arms. Now I have to send it out for re- heat treat.
Next was the spare tire well. I ordered the newer center position well / Bucket. After I got the rear bumper cover off , I tried a chisel & heat & A BIG 32oz dead blow hammer. Man! this Tub is not coming loose?? So I went to Harbor Freight & got the $70.00 multi cutting tool. I did a perimeter top cut. And the tub came out in one Piece, Then I changed the cutter blade and sliced right through the adhesive. Best cheap tool I've brought lately. A word to the wise. If you order the MB adhesive repair kit to glue the new one in. P/N 168 - 670 - oo - 93. $80.00 It takes a really special Motor driven chalk gun. Don't think the dealer will let you Borrow theirs I would look at another type of Adhesive. Cheers _PTEngineering

6.3 Black Series Anti Sway bar refit
Hello : it has beeen a long hot summer. and I just got the New 6.3 B/S Anti sway bar done. I had to rebend the side / end arms , Then shorten them & relocate the the link arm hole back 13 mm's . I also made my own Poly bushings and installed side movment limiters. The actual bar diameter is 16MM , not the 18mm I stated earlier. Then it went off to to be power painted.

True Dual Exhaust for CLK
Attached are some pictures for my exhaust project. I had a friend cut out the rear bumper for the right side tail pipe relief, He was very clever and molded in the upper & side pieces. This thing looks factory. I also have the newer Black insert for Duals, Just have not installed it yet. I even put the Heat Shields in place. The center mounted spare tire tube in place. It is only 21" wide & OEM tire well was 15" wide & would hold a mini spare .I had to find a space saver tire and a Mini tire air pump. The P/N for the black vinyl insert for the Dual exhaust 209-885-40-25

Wow looks factory. Nice work.
Is the dual ex for performance or looks?..... in other words will I see any benefits with kleemans blower, cams, headers........ with true dual ex over my stock AMG catback?
As always top notch OEM quality work.

More anti sway bar pictures
I installed the B/S anti Sway bar , with Poly Bushings . I also added in a Grease zerk fitting to each side end cap. This was to keep the noise down

True Dual Exhaust for CLK
I started the exhaust project , because I was have a hard time getting the bolt mods to respond or show an increase in Torque & Hp Something was holding back the motor So I saved my Money & got a Kleemann Header system with 200 cell Random Tech Cats. after I got it install & did a Dy no. (This was with the Factory exhaust piping . to a Factory AMG muffler, But no secondary cats) I was wonderfully surprised. It all came together.
So why am I redoing a system that works? In one of my trips to the farm I crushed the Passenger side Cat. It needed replacement & something was holding back the HP I was expecting . So I decided to redo the complete system to a True Dual Exhaust . It will have new primary cats only . 2.5" dia down pipes to the Magnaflow X pipe muffler , then 3" from the outlet of the X-pipe muffler to the Bumper. I found some neat expansion cones to bring the muffler outlet from 2.5" to 3" . Most of the piping is 409 S.S.

Will you be doing two mufflers after the Magnaflow X pipe? If so what type? What is the model number of the magnaflow X pipe muffler?
Do you have any idea what the diameter of the headers are?
What kind of cat are you going to use?

Out Of Control!!
Nice work Pat! I'm thinking about redoing my exhaust setup. I tried fitting adual 3" in/out x pipe resonator but it wouldnt fit in the tunnel. Right now I have nothing connecting the 2 banks so I want to incorporate an xpipe and somehow try to quiet it down haha. I really like those 2.5" to 3" cone transitions, looks really nice! mine is just a sudden jump in pipe diameter right now with a vband. Good luck and maybe I will follow your path
