You posted in thread last year. Easy appearing, I needed some access for 2 RD's and some other electronics.

It's an electronic switch, not linkage anymore. Unplugging Dyson vacuum battery is more involved. And I hate electronics and wiring. Just hate sloppy work more.

hey when u removed the center piece is there a way to do it without removing the buttons or are they gonna come with.

I will need to still be able to drive my car while my trim parts are being carboned....

Didn't drive it, but guess you could with shifter plugged in. Buttons irrelevant for daily driving so likely will be fine.

nooooo......so it looked like the tranny knob and 3 buttons simply plugged in under the cover..so when u lifted the cover and pulled it forward did they just unplug on their own.?

No, just typical harness plugs. forget which kind, but press pull IIRC. They're Germans, that stuff is always easy. My 10yo helped, with commentary.
Phillips and Torx needed IIRC too. Easy.

cool, got the shifter surround off....gingerly and nervously...was able to keep all the buttons plugged in too...

now i need to get the side pieces off, and the AC surround and ashtray cover...that seems hard...cant seem to figure it out yet....

then...i need to seperate the leather from the plastic...I want to retain that in the transition
