For those who own a Mercedes-Benz A45, CLA45 or GLA45 AMG, we wish to update you with our future plans for each of these three models. It's only been a few months since the release of our Alpha Mercedes-Benz 45 Series AMG Performance Air Intakes but the response has been overwhelming! With hundreds sold already, keeping them in stock has been somewhat of a challenge; not knowing if performance upgrades would be well-received by the Mercedes-Benz 45 AMG community. We certainly know now!

Alpha Mercedes-Benz 45 Series Performance Intake

Much of the popularity of our performance intakes can be attributed to the 20+horsepower gain achieved after completing a simple 15 minute install. By replacing the plastic intake inlet with a much larger CNC billet aluminum adapter plate, a substantial amount of pressure drop is eliminated after the filter. This significantly improves conditions for power production when complemented with our large, high-flow dry media filter included with the package.

With so many 45 AMG owners relying on our intake, we figured our next course of action would be to support it with additional upgrades.

To enhance aesthetic design of our performance intake upgrade, we plan to release a carbon fiber cover and air scoop - available fall 2015.

Alpha Mercedes-Benz A45 / CLA45 / GLA45 AMG Downpipe

In the works right now is our Mercedes-Benz 45 Series AMG Downpipe for the A45/CLA45/GLA45. When it comes to exhaust upgrades, we often start with the downpipe since a better design here offers the best potential for improving performance. Our higher volume downpipe will consist of a cast stainless steel inlet and outlet section adjoined together by our stainless 3" high flow GESI catalytic converter. Increased volume in addition to improved geometry and flow relieves back pressure near the turbine for quicker turbo response and more power. Alpha customers can expect this exhaust by the end of fall/early winter.

Alpha Mercedes-Benz A45 / CLA45 / GLA45 AMG Heat Exchanger

We’ve found the OEM heat exchanger for the air-to-water intercooler to be quite small and inadequate during extended driving, especially if bolt-on power upgrades are installed on the vehicle. So development of a larger, more efficient Alpha heat exchanger for the A45/CLA45/GLA45 AMG is underway as well. By increasing depth by 20mm throughout our free-flowing exchanger core design, we are able to increase surface area and the contact time with cool, ambient air drawn from outside your vehicle. The result is a better performing air-to-water intercooler with improved boost cooling capabilities for optimum acceleration and power throughout extended periods of driving. Release of this Alpha product is expected this fall.

Alpha Tuning to complement it all

At the same time our downpipe and heat exchanger is released, a tune-only calibration in addition to a “bolt-on” calibration to further enhance the function of our components will also be available. We hope this offers some insight to our involvement with the Mercedes-Benz 45 AMG platform. More details to follow in the upcoming months. Please follow us on Facebook and Google+ to stay informed!
