A45 Eco start/stop question
New member here. So I've recently purchased myself a second hand 2016 a45 AMG and loving it. I'm coming from a WRX STI. This a45 feels much more refined, though I must say it doesn't quite feel fast compared to my remapped STI. However I'm expecting all that to change if I go ahead and remap this 45. It's a beautiful beast.
Anyway, onto my question.
when I first got the car the eco mode was always automatically on in comfort mode and the car would start/stop.
recently I've noticed that the car hasn't been start/stopping at all on my usual commutes. What's more is it now permanently displays the yellow "A" symbol on the centre display. Not only that, the "A" has a stroke through it. I can get this to go away only if I turn the green Eco light button off from the centre dash. If I then turn it back on, this struck out A returns, and the start/stop function never actually happens.
My car also always has this struck out A symbol even if I leave the car overnight.
now, I know this could be a blessing in disguise as many many people want the Eco mode disabled forever ever, which mine now sort of seams to be.
ive read that if there's an error with the system then the "A" symbol will never come up at all. And I've also read that if the right conditions aren't met then the "A" symbol will stay yellow and the car won't do the "start/stop until conditions are met. But I haven't read nor seen any images of an "A" symbol that is crossed out like this.
anyway know what this is?
