A45 AMG FL - Gearbox Slight 'thud'/mechanical noise
First post and now a new AMG 45 owner haha. A 2017 FL model.
Honestly loving the car so far and it's been a MASSIVE upgrade from my previous car. Just wanted to preface the question as it's probably me caring too much, coming from a $3000 manual honda hahaha.
But noticing a slight 'thud' noise typically heard when I'm coming to a stop at the lights, stop sign (in any auto mode but not Manual, i.e. displays PDNR on the screen). Tried filming it, but it's too low frequency to pick up.
- It also appears and doesn't appear depending on the incline and approach speed, doesn't appear to happen when manually shifting down. Please note this is a different sound to the horror clunk/grind when shifting to R in cold.
- Only similar noise I can think of in a manual car pulling up to your driveway and shifting into 1st gear up the driveway, no grinding but a softer thud
Basically just wondering if any owners experience this too and if it's normal? I've tried digging up old forums, but unable to find anything.
Thank you!
