A35/A45s (2020) Window tint scratching
Hi All,
Background: New A35 owner (had it for 6 months now and loving it!), opted for window tinting as an accessory for the front two windows.
I am having an issue with the window mould scratching the tint whenever I wind up or down the window.
When taken back to Mercedes I was advised that this is a known issue, however window tinting is an aftermarket addition and they have no responsibility to resolve the issue.
I was wondering if anyone else has this issue and how did you resolve it?
Google informed me of a product called "Moleskin" - however they only have mould fit outs for the C, E and CLA classes.
Mercedes advised they will replace the window tinting once only; noting however that it will happen again - so I am trying to look for a workaround if there is one!
Thanks

Hi,
If this was not made by MB you can only claim this where the job was "badly" done.
I have tinted all my cars but rear only, as it's not allowed by the police on front in my country, and this was made by professional/specialist with 10 years warranty or even lifetime.

I would make MB fix this known defect that they've admitted to knowing about. I think that the fact that your windows are tinted is irrelevant. The glass would be scratched if the tinting wasn't there. Just my 2 cents. Glad you like the car otherwise. Should be quite the pocket rocket.
