2024 A35 (FL) dropping out of gear

Hi
New to the group and hoping for some help or advice.

My daughter drives a 2024 A35 and over the last month or two she has had a frightening intermittent problem(3 times).

A bit hard to describe:

Slowing down on the approach to a roundabout the car has dropped into what can only be described as neutral, although screen indicating “drive”.
So basically car revving but just coasting.
She has to stop, switch off and then proceed.

Car still under warranty so going back to Mercedes on Monday 28th April

Just wondering if anyone else has had similar problem.

Anyways so in the case of the other car, it was a software issue while others reported only a valve body replacement fixed it. Your dealership will try to perform updates first or even go through fluid change and analysis. Keep in mind though, these two cars don't have the same transmission. The A 35 has a DCT if I recalled correctly.

More info

Have had response from another 3 A35 owners ( Facebook groups) who have had similar issues.
In one case the car has been in three times and if not fixed will have to go to MB UK which could potentially mean a recall!!!!

Not scare mongering, but All I’d say to owners is take care

We bought a 2025 A35 AMG in April 2025 and after 4 months, my son was accelerating from a roundabout towards a motorway and whilst it showed in Drive, transmission disengaged and revs went sky high and it coasted to a stop. Thankfully it was late Sunday with low traffic but could have been much worse if rush hour doing 70 on the motorway. We are currently going through a rejection with the finance company but think they may try and fob us off initially. What FB group did you find other owners with same issues as would be good to find out their issues and if they got sorted?

we’ve had the same. Just going through a rejection so what FB group had other members as good to get insight into other people’s issues and their resolutions?
