Limp mode speed?

Hi folks,
I recently bought an A45 AMG. In the approx 150kms I've travelled in the car so far it has thrown a wobbly 4 times. First time collision avoidance deactivated message came up on the dashboard. At the same time the car slowed to what seemed like a crawl. There was no throttle response it was like it had gone into cruise control set at about 20mph but accelerator did nothing. A few days later I went out in the car again, during the 80km journey this same thing happened three times but with a different warning message. 'Stability control inactive' After pulling off the road and restarting the engine all was normal till the next time.
Does this sound like limp mode or something else? I've experienced limp mode in other cars and usually rpm is limited but speeds of around 50mph are no problem. The A45 reduces to crawling pace and is dangerously slow if this was to happen in fast moving traffic.
These incidents produced a CEL and codes indicating CAN bus comms errors. 'No CAN message from control unit'
Surely a CAN bus error between modules should result in an appropriate warning not a dangerous slowing of the car.
I bought the car from a dealer and they will cover the cost of any fix. This is the highest tech car I have owned and we are not off to a good start!

What did the dealer find? Was it fixed in one visit?

My experience with MB limp mode is limiting to 50 mph. But it shouldn't drop to 20 mph. Dangerous indeed.
