AMG GT: GT, GTS, GTC, GTR, GT-4 door (C192 / R192)2024 - present: The GT/GT S is the second generation GT sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG.
We have a 2024 M8 convertible. Love it, wicked fast big GT car. Drives big and heavy, not light. Solid build quality and comfortable for long drives, devours the road. Compared to the Mercedes SL/GT line, it's a banging bargain. These might be look upon as classics one day as production is nearing the end and rumors of a replacement 6 series swirl. No more M8's. We've had zero issues year one.
I have gone back/forth getting an M8 but just liked the ride better in the M850. I hope they don't do away with the 8 and shrink it to a 6, I'd like to see things like massaging seats in the new 6 or 8. I've always been a fan of big lux HP euro GT's going back to the 1980's gray market 500SEC days, also bought some incredible 930 turbos back then including an '85 with an engine completely rebuilt by Kremmer racing...from a roll that car destroyed everything that came up against it including superbikes of the day. One of my biggest regrets was not keeping some of the 930's and turbo3.6's, but especially the Kremmer, sigh...

I'd put the 850 up against just about anything on the road today. Underrated, drives more "M" than not. Very fast, it's a mid 3 second car. In convertible form, no need to get an SL. We went in looking for an 850 but it was the last day of the year and they made us a great offer on the M8, glad they did. The one thing I wish they had on the 8's was massage seats, at this level it's a miss. I agree, the only other option for a large coupe is a Bentley and that's double the money.
As for the old 930's...what can you say. I was too young, closest I ever got was dreaming of one. They were, and still are one of my all-time favorite cars. I am now reminded of the old Ruf 911's.
Don’t worry my friend I’ll post! Hopefully in about a week or two. The thing I love and also hate is that these cars are very rare at least for now and so there isn’t a lot of customization inspiration out there in the community to draw from. So definitely interested in contributing. My base color is the obsidian black with red interior so the red calipers should be a nice subtle flex to match inside. I’m going to do a hood stripe in gloss black with AMG logo cut out. There may be some other gloss on satin black accents as well but we’ll see. I’ve had the rims re-powdered in satin black to cover the polished lip and AMG logo, which I’ve never liked polished. So this car will be almost fully murdered out when done. Will check out the vs thread!
Just checking in. Still like your GT? Did you ever post any pics? Thanks
