MBUSA Issues Recall for 135 Mercedes-AMG GT S Coupes


If you own a Mercedes-AMG GT S and feel that you’ve been missing a little power lately, no worries, it likely could be in need of a fairly simple fix from your local dealership.

This was alluded to by a member of the amggt forum. I am happy MB is making this official and taking the right steps to correct it.
It looks like this affects a very small amount of cars.

Nothing more confidence inspiring than hearing that my car's driveshaft is GLUED to another part!

If the GT-S has a carbon fiber driveshaft then my GT-L (lemon) might have the optional paper mache driveshaft. I'll check my car's options list.

That's that Mercedes quality baby!

How does a driveshaft coming apart cause one to be down a little power?

I don't think they are saying a little loss of power, rather a "loss" of all power when the bond breaks and the shaft spins free. Must be very exciting.
