New hood emblem
The new 2017 black hood emblem seems to be what all the cool kids are doing these days, so I found the correct one for me and my buddies car and installed them today:
In case you want to get one, the correct PN for the C190 is:
Also, got the side emblems color matched, so threw them on while I was at it:
And lastly, the crossbar as well. May do the seat inserts to match, havent decided yet.. but I'm pleased with how this turned out:

Nice job - I've not seen a black emblem before and looks really nice
May have to purchase a few, just on/off with adhesive pads - right ?

No pinch spring on the c190; because it actually mounts to the bumper like an emblem ..Just 2 small pins with built in grommets. My buddies c63 has the pinch spring, hence my extended search for the correct part! install is 60 seconds. Pop the old one out with an interior panel tool, snap new one in!

Both are currently bone stock. We have driven each others cars (best friends since elementary school) and the consensus is that from 0-50 the C63 wins. Its just got more low-end torque. Above that, the GT will walk away; its much more suited for high speed... you have both, do you agree? To me, the C63 is the ultimate stoplight racer. I know yours GT is an "s" but IMHO I dont feel the 50hp makes any difference. Ive driven both, and tuning is my intention, so the highly-optioned non-s was my poison.

that PN is that for the one with the pinch spring on the back???? and also were both badges the same for both vehicles, as I have a 2017 c class coupe and was told the part number is A0008171701 this also has the pinch spring built in. However there is no stock anywhere in the UK or Germany ????

Yes I would agree that the C63S with the stock bump in tq feels faster from a dig but in reality the lesser tq allows for less wheel spin in the GTS (along with the weight bias) and it should beat the C to 60. My GTS was only stock for a very very short time (under 200 miles I think) and the tune bug set in. And then I found that the launches were actually harder because of the gigantic tq lift from the tune. I had a 991 GT3 in 2015 as well and I could easily dominate my GTS to 60 because of its lack of low end tq and amazing grip. But of course a roller was no contest.
I can totally see your angle on the non S as well- Mine was the Edition 1 in 2015 of May so I had no other options. I am actually thinking about swapping the ED1 for a white one, white is my fave color and I have someone who wants my ED1 and I have sourced a smoking deal on the white one so Ill probably just do it but it will be an S cause thats where the deal is. White is Right!!!

Mods are tastefully done and look great.
For the letters on the side, do they come out one by one and you have to stick them back one by one?
How easy or difficult was it to remove the crossbar?

The crossbar... is not structural. The plastic surrounds pop forward with little effort, and the bar itself is held in place with 2 small T30 Torx head bolts. Takes 2 minutes to remove. It actually looks nice simply removed all together! A solid cap to cover the two holes would be simple to make.

You can purchase a set on amazon for like $6 bucks. .
Do NOT use a metal tool. These are a hard plastic that wont mess up the paint. Just put it under the edge, pry it up a mm or two, and then go 180 degrees, repeat, go 90 degrees repeat, 90 degrees repeat and it will pop straight up without damaging it - or the vehicle.

Thanks again xcfisher. Went to a local dealership with part number to inquire about the emblem for the GT. After much searching I was told that the item is not currently in stock, but could be ordered tied to my VIN. The emblem would have be made in Germany after an order (with uncertain "several months" timeline), and I was told the cost was $120.

Got my new black hood emblem and tried prying off the stock ones. It's harder than I thought since I didn't have the proper interior trim removal tool. I used old credit cards, hard plastic like tool, etc. and it seems impossible to get something wedge under the emblem. It sits flushed and not even a thin dental floss can get beneath it. I ended chipping some paint so that's when I decided to give up.
Any other tips out there that can help me? I got my emblem over at MBOEM parts for about $40 shipped. Thanks.

The entire installation in about 20 seconds once you get the hang of it. All you do is lift the hood (to get to the underside) and press the two tabs together that flank the spring mechanism. That releases the old emblem (make sure you hold onto it so it doesn't slide down your hood and scratch the paint). Maybe this why you couldn't get it to pry off, lol.
The new emblem pops into place in the reverse order. Make sure you check the installation for tightness, as some other people in these forums have improperly done this (user error) and then tried to blame it on the part or the retailer.
The above describes sedans and coupes. If you have an SL/SLK/SLR or AMG GT, then I am not sure the same applies (maybe someone else can chime in?). Hope this helps.

For reference here is a link to the part on MBOEMParts.com - http://www.mboemparts.com/oe-mercedes-benz/0008171801
I am also trying to find the part # for the rear emblem. MBOEMParts doesn't have a vehicle listing for the C190 / AMG GT/S.
