Wheel Spacers

Anyone running wheels spacers on the GTS? If so what brand and how thick?

For those of you with custom rims, what offset and widths are you running? Any rubbing issues?

No spacers here but H&R might have some for you:

This is for the C63S but its the same bolt pattern and hub measure. You just have to pick what you want. I haven't had my stocks on for so long I cant remember what they needed but it was probably at least 10mm up front and in the rear. Ill see if I can get my offsets on my aftermarkets for you. I ran the same widths and diameters as OEM to keep the tires but went way more aggressive on the offsets.

Thanks Vic. I might just space my wheels out for starters. BTW my username is not accurate, I decided that the C63 wasn't going to cut it and ordered a GTS instead. Gets built in a month. I love the look of the wheels on your car, if you could provide offsets I'd appreciate it.

Still looking for info on custom wheel offsets and/or spacer thicknesses used. Any nelp would be appreciated! Who has put too much offset in their custom rim order and had rubbing on occasion? Anyone get a 9.5" rim on the front successfully?

My selenite gray GTS gets built tomorrow!

I kept the oem widths with my aftermarket rims (9's and 11's) and am trying to get the offsets but he is a tight *** (the builder ha).

What I do know is that Weistec tried to put 275's in the front and its not optimal to avoid rubbing. I think the car is maxed at 265 so a 9 or 9.5 wont really matter except for 6mm (split the inner and outer of half an inch) in offset. And that's a big maybe because if I push my car out further I will rub in the front. I think with the right rear offset you can get a 12 on there:

If you plan on using OEM sized tires, you can use 19x9 ET45 front and 20x11 ET48 rear which is about the maximum you can go without rubbing.

A few more weeks until the wheels are in. Will definitely post pictures then.

From my set of Forgeline wheels on the car. My tire shop measured the OEM gaps on the car and worked out the necessary offsets. Now the tires are flush with the fenders.

No rubbing. Picture is not very good but shows the idea.

So here's what I've learned.
Dont buy from Precision European Autowerks on Amazon. Their spacers arrived and were sloppy. They also had a big chamfer that interfered with the small chamfer our wheels have.. Decent customer service though and I sent them back. Avoided their low cost lug bolts based on their spacers.

Bought both ECS and H&R spacers. Similar quality but you could tell the H&R were a bit nicer. Kept the H&R parts.

Found out that we have two piece lug bolts, with a free spinning mercedes ball washer. My bolts are 42mm long with a 15mm total length washer. The H&R lug bolts are one piece. Couldnt find lengthened 2 piece bolts anywhere, although found them for Porsche. Seperated one of my stock bolt and washer pairs and destroyed the bolt while doing so. Figured Id buy the Porsche 2 piece bolt, swap washers and be set. ECS told me their bolts came apart. Ordered those and found that was untrue. But I got a look at their bolt and didnt like the look of it. Threads were weird, rough. Didnt look rolled.

Bought H&R lug bolts and was shipped two different styles with the same part number. Quality appears high, one piece lug bolts only, but 2 different head styles. One is flat like a regular bolt and ine is dished. They are sending me more dished ones. I think ECS had old stock on hand and the new rev is the dished parts.

I think the back wheels look way too inset. The front look ok. I've heard of offsets on the back as high as 45. Stock is 68. To my eye that offset sticks out too far. Part of the issue is the narrowish tire is on a wide rim, so visually if the tire lines up, the rim protrudes. I figured 15 or 20mm spacers, and erred on the conservative side with 15. Installing them, finally!, this weekend.

I think the front wheels look ok. 15mm spacers on the front look bad I think. I also worried about impact to steering. So, no go trying to keep all lug bolts the same length. I think a good offset maybe 10mm for the front, but our hubs protrude 12mm and with the chamfer on the spacer, this would eliminate any hub pilot action. For now I'm going with no spacer. It may be that a 6mm spacer or so retains the hub pilot and looks great.

We'll see.

Reviving this old thread, however, I'm looking to add spacers to my Edition 1...I think going 5mm in the front and 12.5/15mm for the rear. I can also add a 315 tire and not use any spacers.

It's lowered on KW's. Looking to get the ECS C63 spacers, has anyone on here used spacers with the OEM wheels?

I will eventually purchase aftermarket wheels, but for now will rock the oem+ look until I decide which brand.

Im running 15s on the back with zero issue. It doesnt look silly with the wheels sticking out of the fenders, it just looks good. 5 on the front would look good.

I've used H&R Hubcentric all round. 15mm rear and 10mm front. The wheels sit perfectly flush to the arch now.
