That big of a horsepower bump may make quite a bit of difference in the straights.
Which Renntech GT R tune is rated at 773hp? Got a link?

You're spreading misinformation. Their website clearly states the following black on white:
Tune Only => 659HP (Stock 577HP). Link: https://www.renntechmercedes.com/ind...mg-gt-r-detail
Stage 2 Turbo Upgrade and supporting mods => 761HP (Stock 577HP). Link https://www.renntechmercedes.com/ind...178-gtr-detail
Jeez, people think a tune only will get you 200hp over stock. Come on.

The thing to really know is that all of the top tuners have about the same increases in power. So It really comes down to whether a tune causes CELs or other issues, quality customer service and then price ....in that order.

You have to switch fluids ASAP; I strongly suggest Castrol SRF. Also, invest in some better pads for road course work for sure. Bed everything in before you go and you’ll be much happier.
Member Decartesfool has tracked his GTS extensively and would have some great advice re: best brake pads to switch to.
Good luck!

Cool
Have you thought about trying the R888r tires in addition to your brake upgrades? They should be much stickier than the Michelins but they're also much noisier.
And IIRC, the Bridgestone RE71R also comes in stock or near stock sizes.

I’m actually trying to find a cheapish spare set of wheels so I can mount the PS2 or even full on slicks. I’m just not having great luck at finding something affordable. Hoping to find something this week.
I have my car up for sale already so I don’t want to spend too much.
And if there’s a dedicated track tire you can recommend, feel free to recommend

The RE71R is the fastest non R compound tire Tirerack has ever tested. From the research I've done, they should be about as fast as R compound PSC2s while lasting twice as long and costing less. I've run them as daily tires on a couple of my fun cars but nothing where I could provide data vs another tire on the same track. Most of the track rats on Rennlist seem to like them.
They're $1200 for the GTS vs $1600 for PSC2s and will be more streetable. Give them a shot on your daily driver wheels IMO.
I think if you're going to go stickier than that (Hoosiers), not sure if the stock suspension, brakes, oiling system, cooling system, etc are capable.

interesting... wonder how long the transmissions will hold up under abuse... Any tuners care to chime in on the reliability of the trans if pushing significantly more (100HP+) power?
"Engine output is also likely to climb in the AMG GT Black Series, with Moers saying there’s “still room for more,” power from the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. The V8 currently makes 577 hp in the AMG GT R, which is the current AMG GT range-topper. But the seven-speed dual-clutch AMG transmission can’t handle much more power, Moers explained, so don’t expect an absolutely massive jump in power. Something like 50 hp seems like a realistic guess."

i wouldn’t spend the extra $ on Renntech. I would look at Eurocharged.
I can tell you that having driven the car at COTA it definitely needs a tune to maximize all that suspension. The GTS I’ve driven tuned are monsters, but the lack of traction holds it back. The GTR with the extra wheel width would really wake up that car.
