I’m debating it as well and the place I called here in Oakville was very reasonably priced but they also told me that odds are I wouldn’t even be able to notice any difference at all!

Not sure what to make of it considering so many here have suggested it makes a considerable difference in sound?

This is still the best comparison I have found yet:

I just cut the cats 2 days ago. Best $130 I've spent the car.

Best mod ever.

The Particulate filter will be next delete on new cars.

For those who got the resonators deleted. Did you get a TIG or MIG welded? Any preference of one over the other?

Thanks in advance!!

Thanks MG. I am debating how much of a difference it makes. The guy who is willing to do TIG in my area is asking for $500, whereas, the regular job (MIG) I have heard can be done for $200-250

t3flondon 05-15-2020 04:18 PM

Dude, no! Way to high for either, $200 max for MIG, mine was done for $150 here in LA, My other car was done TIG for $300ish, Honestly either way will not make much of a difference in my opinion. (note: my girl thinks I am wrong all the time)

I thought I was pretty clear on this until I read a couple of the replies. exactly where are the secondaries? back by rear axle or further forward? is the "panel" easy for them to remove and will they know where cats are to remove proper panel??? thx!

t3flondon 05-18-2020 02:54 PM

They are located just under the engine where the pipes come down.https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...9f8c10285c.jpg

And the cheapest mod at less than $200 bucks you can do besides window tint and fuzzy dice.

Just one quick question before I get this done.... anyone have any drone issues at all?

none!

t3flondon 05-21-2020 08:53 PM

Nope, the only sound other than the V8 is me making engine sounds as I smile and rip up the street.

oyalomar 05-22-2020 04:37 PM

Guys I've heard that deleting secondary deletes may lead to some air sound which makes it worse a bit.

I've also heard a video in another thread and the sound wasn't clear.

Is there any better quality video can be shared by anyone who deleted the secondary cats?

t3flondon 05-22-2020 04:48 PM

Here ya go, excuse the dirty car, it had just rained, also did it from inside to outside car, that's where you sit to hear it most of the time. In Sport+ mode.

oyalomar 05-22-2020 04:50 PM

In which mode is this video?

t3flondon 05-22-2020 05:15 PM

Sport+

oyalomar 05-22-2020 05:19 PM

Great Video!

Thank you for your quick response

2 quick questions... my fab guy is a perfectionist and wants to know what type of stainless it is... and also needs to know the pipe diameter... thanks for the help... he also suggested putting an x pipe in but I don't think i want to do that.

t3flondon 05-27-2020 01:55 PM

Someone chime in if I am wrong, there is nothing wrong with being a perfectionist, in my opinion, and I have owned and modified a lot of high end vehicles over the last 35+ years, that mod no matter what you use, pipe, material etc, is not going to make much difference in performance or sound, upgrading down pipes, exhaust system will, but not just the pipe used for removing secondary cats, just make sure that the weld is good but sounds like he is a perfectionist. lastly there is a debate on if the pipe should go over or inside the removed cat ends, and X pipe is another debate that can go on as well.

X-Pipe only works if you have two parallel pipes running side by side so where you remove the resonator (cat) you make the pipes to cross over so it creates some kinda back pressure so not to lose power. In the case of the GT you have two single pipes running on either side of the car so an x-pipe can not be applied.
