Hello, I am a 2015 CLS550 owner living in New Zealand. My car was imported from Japan. Recently, I accessed the engineering mode and changed the REGION from JAPAN to NA. After that, an "ANTI THEFT" error code appeared on the radio screen, and now neither the radio nor the audio system is working. I contacted the local dealer to inquire about an audio reset, but they informed me that they cannot reset the audio for Japanese-imported vehicles in New Zealand, and that my car does not have a separate SECURITY CODE. Since I purchased the car second-hand, I never received the vehicle manual and have never seen the SECURITY CODE. My question is: Do all Mercedes-Benz vehicles have a SECURITY CODE, or are there some models without one, as the dealer mentioned? I reached out to another audio specialist, and they suggested that a reset might be possible, but they quoted me NZD $800, and if a radio conversion is needed, it could cost over NZD $1,000. At that point, I feel like it might be better to just buy a new or used unit instead. If anyone has experienced the "ANTI THEFT" error code issue, please share your experience.
