Comand installation questions
OK so I went over to Germany and picked up a Comand unit (with 203 in its product code) to install in my second W209 CLK.
All is well - it powers up and after changing language to English from german it plays CD's tunes in radio and can be controlled from sterring wheel - nice. BUT when I insert the NAVI CD of UK it sits FOREVER (actually 7 hours now!!) on the message 'ACTIVATING NAVIGATION - PLEASE WAIT'.
I have gone to diagnostics (via MUTE 1 and 3 buttons) and checked under INFOS where I find that the GPS SAT shows 0 - I know that really should be showing at least 4 or 5 sats
So I got hold of another Antenna - yes I know have two antennas and still no change.
My question is - am I beginning to realize that the SAT\NAV side of this unit is dead - if so can it be repaired? Any idea of cost? Or am I just doing soemthing wrong?

as long as the disc isn't being read - the GPS reception will show 0 sats in the service menu
your comand has a faulty CD drive if it doesn't want to read the (original) nav disc

ok heres the question then....
The CD drive can play happily MUSIC CD's both copied and otherwise, the unit also recognizes the NAVI CD as a CD ROM - it just NEVER activates navigation. I must admit that the NAVI cd is a copy - but I have an origanal Navi CD for Europe - that doesnt activate sat\nav either
Any ideas? And if it IS a knackered CD drive, how much is that to replace?
