98 ML320 Subwoofer, Amplifier Install

My buddy bought the following subwoofer for his 98 ML320:

Bose bass box subwoofer

and he wants to know if he needs the following amplifier:

Bose amplifier

Also, where would we find the wiring to hook everything up?
