got a 03 s55 with phone system recently. i switched one of my older tdma phones on to this phone with esn number done a local cingular office. no charge, no problem. thought i would get another v60 to use and upgrade older tdma phone again for second number and person. got v60 with cingular access, took it to the same cingular office asked them to change over to other number on my at&t account so i can use in mercedes. cingular will not let me change this phone over because the account was at&t, phone is cingular, and cannot change service because cingular will not sign up anymore phones that are not gsm.
question- is there a way to have the v60i phone programed from cingular to at&t?
thanks

I just ran into the same problem trying to activate an older tdma v60 with cingular. they said they will not activate new accounts to tdma. only way would have been to already have an existing tdma account through them, then they could have activated my v60 using that account.
try getting one of the uhi from mbenznl or scorchie, that way you'll be able to use the phone of your choice and get any service you want.

I know that's true for a GSM phone, butis it possible for a TDMA phone? Sounds like the OP has a TDMA phone, unless I'm misunderstanding.Originally Posted by fazooley

Hmm, I have heard a lot about unlocking GSM phones, but never TDMA phones. Try Howardforums.com, there's a lot of information on issues like the one you have.

The only network a TDMA phone will work on is Cingular/AT&T. It will do you no good to unlock the phoneOriginally Posted by dtkw

Verizon is CDMA as is Sprint so a TDMA phone will not work with either.
At present, I think that Cingular GoPhones (prepaid) are still using the TDMA network. Perhaps the phone could be activitated as a prepaid phone. Worth asking!
