Voice Activation for Nav System?
I am currently looking at new cars and am trying to decide between a Lexus GS 300 AWD and the Mercedes E 320 CDI. I drive about 7,000 miles a month and am looking for reliability. I also make extensive use of my GPS navigation system. I am leaning toward the MB because of the durability of the diesel engine but am concerned about the Nav system.
The Lexus Nav system responds TO voice commands for street addresses whereas the MB does not. This is a safety issue for me as I always have to pull over to the side of the road to key in new directions to my current Nav system (Magellan 700) and I would like to be able to enter destinations verbally to avoid the delay and danger of exiting and entering traffic.
I understand that the EU version of the Comand system does accept voice commands but that that feature is not supported in the US versions. Can anyone tell me if the EU version would be available on a car obtained through the European pick up program or whether anyone knows of any plans to implement the voice activation feature of the Comand system on American MBs? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I doubt European Delivery will give you a car with European COMAND. European Delivery simply means they hold back a US spec vehicle and let you take delivery of this Amerian car in Europen.
