Not that they need the props, but...
Sometimes you just need to give credit where it's due. In this case, I wanted to make sure that Scorchie (Dean) from mbenznl (yup, the Steve and Dean show) got some well deserved credit for some friendly, calm, accurate and helpful support. I won't go into all the details because they'd frankly bore the tears out of most of you. Suffice it to say that the COMAND install to my W208 wasn't necessarily the smoothest process I've ever done. The fact that it wasn't entirely smooth had nothing to do with Dean (or Steve), but a lot more to do with some other issues and the fact that I'm not anywhere reasonably close to where Steve would normally travel. At the beginning of this saga, Dean provided more help and support via phone and email than I could possibly have asked for. By the end of the ordeal (well, it's not "quite" over - a couple minor details to finish up) I ended up replacing the COMAND with one from him, and have learned a great deal in the process.
Again, for reasons that I won't go into I'm not posting every little detail. The main thing however is that these guys are a class act, are completely trustworthy and deserving of a huge thanks. I don't think they even need the recommendation, but every once in a while I'm sure that even they come across a really difficult to deal with customer who may not be so praising and I thought a little balance to say thanks would definitely be in order.
Dean, if you or Steve ever find yourself in this neck of the woods, I'd sure like to say thanks in person.
Now if I could just get my wife to be so understanding about my CLK....
