V60 Phone
I purchased my car in March 2002 and my dealer installed the older phone (Startac). My dealer said it was not available for my car in march. I have been having problems with my phone so I called MB and they indicated the new phone was available. I called my dealer and complained and they have agreed to upgrade my phone but I would have to pay the difference between the older model and the new which is around $700 dollars. My question is does anyone have both phones and would it be worth it?

My dealer would not let me pay the difference. I have the TIMEPORT phone and the V60. I think that the V60 is a much better phone, but I wasn't about to shell out $1500 for it. After rebates, I paid $100 at AT&T. $1400 just isn't worth speaker phone to me.

The V60 isn't that great of a phone anyway. I think it's running the same software as your timeport so you will probably experience the same "problems".

$30 for renewing your plan for 1 yr
$100 for buying the phone BEFORE JULY 2ND
$50 Loyal Customer discount (AT&T)
I've already forgotten how the speaker phone system was!

Lol, IMO the V60/V70 are pretty good phones. I just got a V70 and love it.
I would NEVER pay for MB's ridiculous phones, though. As cool as it would be to have the phone gadgets functional, I can never justify spending $1500 on an MB cell phone when I can pick up something better for less than 1/3 the price.

I'm not exactly thrilled with the reception on my V60 (over my old Star Tac), but I find it pretty easy to use in the car in conjunction with the CCM Navigator FM handsfree unit. I haven't tried any other handsfree units, but if you don't already have a built-in phone this unit seems to work pretty well. Although I haven't heard any complaints about people not being able to hear me, I imagine if you could tie into the existing built-in microphone (for your Teleaid) the quality would probably be better.

I have the v60 in a cab and I think it is great.
If you spend a lot of time on the phone, you will not regret it. I debated parting with the 2k for a week or so but have no regrets.
The voice dialing actually works and the sound quality is great, even on the freeway withh the top down (as long as windows are up)
