Problem due to Capacitor

When I installed the stereo system I put in a cap as well. From my inside speakers...I can hear the cd player reading the cd. Its pretty annoying when playing music at low volume. There really is no freq/whine noise when accelerating. How can I fix my problem? Do you think the capacitor is causing this problem? My wires running from the amp to the cap are pretty long....could that be the problem?

You can put in shielded audio cables between the units. Terminate the shield on only one end (to avoid ground loop hum). Also make sure the cable pairs are not twisted together (capacitive coupling of one signal to another) and try to seperate the cable runs even by a inch or so.
