2001 CLK340 ipod integration?

I am wondering, what is the best way to integrate an ipod into a 2001 CLK430 other than using the dension ice link as that is very expensive, is there any alternative?

Well it depends on how much integration you want... the Ice Link business is expensive, but it integrates both components together well. If all you want is audio out of the ipod (or some other mp3 player) and you're happy controlling track changes and stuff by hand, you can probably see if that mp3 adapter from formymercedes works for you.

The caveat being that you need to look at the player to see what's going on, and you need to use its controls to change tracks and what-not. But it's cheap... certainly cheaper than the Ice Link anyway.

That's just a step up from a cassette adapter though, so YMMV. At least the sound quality should be nice.

If you have an aftermarket radio with inputs and you don't care about having to use your ipod manually, you can get a simple cable from radioshack for $3 or $4 dollars. It's by far the cheapest and easiest way to connect it (provided you can get behind the radio by yourself). Then simply run the cable up the passenger side of the center console. That's how I have mine connected now...
