S66 VS S66 phone

..........I have managed to install a UHI kit into my 05 G55. The car did not have a factory phone, so it took some doing and I'm pleased to get this work. It works very well except for a simple problem. When I turn the car on, the Comand comes on before the phone finishes its rather long booting process and as aresult the comand does not regcognize the phone. If I turn the car off and turn it back on a gain, it regcognizes the phone and everything works perfectly including voce control, steering wheel control and display on the instrument cluster. Scorchie had mentioned in passing during a previous telephone conversation that the S66 phone works better. I wonder if this is what he meant. Unfortunately, Scorchie has dissappeared and Steve is not coming to the South East or East coast. Does anyone have any experience with Siemens S66 phone and the UHI kit. I suppose I could simply purchase an S66 phone and test it, but was hoping to avoid the expense. Any help is appreciated. Another option I thought of is to find the power wire to the phone and wire it directly to constant current, so that the phone is on all the time. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Why not turn on your phone first before leaving the house?

Does this issue keep you up at night?? Get a different phone that boot faster or take the phone with you. I carry my phone all the time since I have bluetooth in my car, it automatically connect after I start the car.

.............no, this does not keep me up at night, infact if you think about it most of the things we talk about on this forum are of no consequence in the big skeem of things, but here we are talking about them. I approach each car as a project and as such, I feel the need to complete the project.

..........It appears Sunman has the same problem with his Nokia. I have sought of heard the same thing he has heard about the S66 phone not having this problem. I will get an S66 phone and try it and see. Will post the results.

S66

I can confirm that the S66 does not have the problem. Dean and Steve installed the UHI on my 2005 Sl55 and it works great with the S66. I highly recommend the S66 and the UHI.

The only thing I haven't figured out is how to surf the web via wap on Euro Command.
