Command w/ tv&dvd
I would love it if Steve could plug it into the back of the comand when he puts it in. I hate to have some car stereo hack take Steve's Comand out just to plug this in the back.
Also in the instructions it talks about what to do it the comand's harness jacks are already filled by the oem connectos. I wonder if my C1 and C2 connections will be open. Are they just for connecting a tv tuner or will Steve use them?
I know that I can ask him tonight - but I am just wondering.
same here !!!
plus this gives us a DVD player!

GOT IT? the video or command. I know steve is installing today, but did you get the adapter for the video? where from, approx how much, or are you talking about you just purchased from ebay?
Or will others work that I can get locally? Wolfgang????

Are you going to try the dietz off of ebay? I did the German>English translator on it. its less than 200 euro's, but i was not POSITIVE that it was for the "C" class command unit.
HAS anyone on this forum run the dietz adapter for the C class?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
also, does the dietz work with US comand 2.0 (the extra button is blank and not labelled tv)?
if so, will it require any tinkering with star diagnosis or is it plug and play?

Video in motion should work as well.

"In most cases the TV input can be activated by a single touch of the "TV" input."

All you do is plug the video out from the Blaupunkt into the converter and out from the converter to the Dietz.
If you are intersted in purchasing them send me a decent offer. I won't sell seperately.

To reset the head unit you only need to know the keystrokes on the front

wpupload, you mentioned that you have the 1240 and pal converter. does this mean the 1240 doesn't have a built in converter and the 1440 does?
Also, what is dietz charging for the 1440? Last night i hooked my and mounted Blaupunk ME4 (with TV tuner) into the the video adapter. Dvd came in NTSC, so finding the menu to switch to PAL was a PITA with the screen all buggered up.
DVD's crystal clear (watched Oceans 12 all the way to work this morning), although with TV tuner the audio is fine, BUT picture CRAP total CRAP.
I spent a grand total of $435 dollars for the adapter, dvd/tv, installation and supplies (i installed the dvd myself, but steve installed the vid adapter).
Now i am on a search for that adapter NTSC to PAL like "WBUPLOAD", so i can get "viewable" TV on my screen... till then i am enjoying the dvd's.
Any ideas where i can get a NTSC>PAL (12volt) converter that works well? Ebay sells many prices range between 30 and 120.. but i am not sure what works well and what doesn't.
The 1240 supports PAL only but the 1440 supports PAL or NTSC. I also have a 1440 in one of my vehicles.
I purchased both the 1240 and 1440 from a German company (www.Caraudio24.de). The link directly to the products is http://www.caraudio24.de/zubehoer/mu...face/index.htm. They do ship to the US but it is pricey.
I purchased my NTSC to PAL adapter from an Australian company (http://www.highway.net.au).
I can recommend the following application: http://www.highway.net.au/parts/converters/4245.html .

I've been surfing all morning long (slow day @ work today)... and i came up with this:
http://www.simacorp.com/products/ite...0ebea2f&id=491
I called the company that makes them, they say there should not be any issues with rolling assuming that the monitor can support 50 to 60 hertz. Not sure what that means, but the lady said that chances are the monitor should.
is the comand you use for the 1440, a US comand 2.0?
if yes, was it plug and play without any reprogramming from the dealer necessary?
is there video in motion?
