Sub for SLk R171 - Need help please...
I'm looking into getting one maybe two 10" subs for my SLK 350. They will be housed in a customs enclosure in the truck (haven't decided on configuration yet).
I need some help on what brand/model of subs and amp I should go with. I"m looking for above average equipment but not into the mad expensive ultra high end category.
Any suggestions, comments or constructive critisism would be great.

How's this JL audio setup?
Sub JL 10W6 x2
Amp JL 500/1
and JL multichannel to power the car speakers which will be JL XR series.
I like listening to hip hop/rap and it seems that a lot of celeb rapper cars are going the JL route.
Comments/suggestions?

for me I don't like JL........celeb rapper they don't know $hi7........they like it loud and bass that hit all over the place...........

hey, I have 2 10inch W6 subs with a 500/1 jl amp and it sounds great I had the spare tire taken out so i wouldnt lose all my trunck space and it works great I actually have a little more trunk space now because the subs arent that tall

If so how's the sound with the subs in the trunk?
I'm afraid the soundproofing is so good and with the roof down also it will kill the sound quality.

I agree with Image Dynamics, although the bass is kinda dry to my liking (IDMAX version).
If u willing, go Brahma or RE. Zapco amp is very nice. The question asked should be not how loud is it, but how well does it blend with the rest of the sound
