2002 CLK 55
You need Mercedes Benz removal tools, these are also used by Porsche and Audi. They are small flat metal pieces that slide into the upper corners of the radio. Their are 2 small horizontal slots. They slide in and push back the clips holding the radio you then can slide it right out.

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
Cut two pieces of coat hanger wire 6 inches long. Bend into a U shape so the ends go in the holes at the sides of the radio. Push the wires in a couple of inches, push to the outside, and pull the radio out.

No coat hanger? Wal-mart sells the DIN radio tool for a couple of bucks in the Auto Radio department.
