NAV System 01 S 500

When I set my NAV system to CURRENT LOCATION and drive in that setting the cursor goes off the sceen. In other NAV systems the map scrolls so the cursor is always showing you the current location.
Does anyone know if this is normal for this system or is this a bug.
Thanks
Steve

Mine does the same thing on my '00. Guess it's just part of the system.

My Lexus NAV BLOWS away the MB system and doesn't do it. It just merrily follows along with me.

Not normal. The map data should scroll as long as the map you have inserted is in the correct geographical region as you.

If you want the map to scroll while the location of your car stays in the center of your map....you need to hit the MAP button.

If you select current location, the system allows you to move a crosshair (using the number keys) to where you want to go. When it is positioned correcty, select the location and it will calculate the directions. Personally, I always get directions based on Address or via Points of Interest.

This is the way it works in my C.... I can't imagine that your Command doesn't have this functionality as well.

There's no map button on the S 500. According to my dealer the lack of scroll on Current Location is a system bug. Very annoying problem for such a costly car.
