2005 W203 Command Bluetooth

I have a W203 2005 model with Command installed as well as UHI. There is a Bluetooth option in one of the advanced menus and I can see the Command BT from my phone too. Anyone know what this is used for?

Regards,

Then use your phone's fine me in the bluetooth menu and see if it would pair with your command.

Done that. The two units pair up OK, but then what? I cannot use it to talk handsfree or to transfer info. I wonder why MB chose to put that option in. There must be a reason.

I don't have a car with command, what did you see in the command screen once you paired? If the Command has BT built-in, there should something in the BT menu to work with the phone, I think. Does your owner menual say anything about BT?

I think currently, it is only for MB bluetooth earpiece and MB bluetooth phone. Will not work with current phones out there.

Man, they still want you to spend $$$$ for their phones in order to use the BT in the cars??

As stated in numerous threads, that bluetooth menu is for an earpiece ONLY.

NO - that is NOT the case with ROW cars (non NA spec cars) as the ROW phonekits work with generic phones (not MB branded).

Fact is though that mercedes wants their customers:
1) not to have a loose phone lying around incase of an accident (so you have to lock your phone in the cradle)
2) to use the extrenal phone antenna as there still are lots of speculations about GSM radiation and their influence on ones's health
3) ro use the external phone antenna as their cars with IR red glass (optional) block phone signalling
4) and whatever else they come up with at MB

greetingz,

And the fact the phone gets a charge while in the cradle.
gets better reception with an external antenna and antenna booster
