Rear parcel shelf speakers on 2005 C-Class

Rear parcel shelf speakers on 2005 C-Class
I have a 2005 C-class and I find that there is only sound from the rear door speakers and nothing from the parcel shelf.
My question is: Are there supposed to be speakers there and mine are not working or are there no speakers. I would find this disappointing since most sedans nowadays come out with speakers on the rear parcel shelf. Are there mounting places for speakers there?

US cars are built differently than ROW cars. If you want a honest answer you will need to provide more detailed info about the equipment level, audio system wise, of your car.
